Who Qualifies for CoolSculpting?

Even though this innovative technique has proven beneficial on men and women of varying age groups, those who are most likely to benefit from CoolSculpting:

  • Are at or near their ideal weight
  • Struggle with stubborn areas of fat that do not respond to exercise and diet efforts
  • Are not interested in or do not qualify for surgical procedures
  • Understand realistic expectations for the outcome of their procedure

How Is CoolSculpting Performed?

After your initial appointment with Dr. Decherd and Dr. Isakson to create your treatment plan, your procedure will be scheduled. During your appointment, a specialized gel pad and the CoolSculpting handpiece will be applied to the predetermined area(s) and cryolipolysis will start. The cooling, delivered through the handpiece, will target and freeze the fat cells. You will probably feel a cold sensation at the time of your treatment, but this does not typically create pain. As the applicator uses suction to pull the targeted fat toward the predetermined treatment area, you will likely experience a slight tugging or stinging, but these are completely normal sensations.

What REsults Can I Expect From CoolSculpting?

Since CoolSculpting is noninvasive, you can expect to return to your normal activities after the procedure. Most often, patients can return to school or work immediately afterward. Symptoms of the procedure can include bruising, stinging, redness, swelling, and discomfort in and around the treatment site. These symptoms are short-lived and usually fade in the hours after your session. You can expect to see results within three weeks while you will see the most dramatic and obvious results 1 – 3 months after your CoolSculpting appointment.

CoolSculpting FAQs

How much does CoolSculpting cost? The price of CoolSculpting depends upon the number of treatments required and the quantity of fat being removed. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your desired outcome to choose the best course of treatment to reach optimal results. We’ll also talk with you regarding any anticipated out-of-pocket expenses.

How does CoolSculpting work? CoolSculpting works by using a controlled temperature to destroy fat cells in predetermined areas for treatment. Essentially, it cools the fat cells while they die. The cells are subsequently broken up by your body and expelled through natural functions.

How many treatment sessions will I need? The number of treatments that will be needed to achieve your desired results will be decided during your consultation. For many patients, just one treatment is enough. However, other patients may need more treatment sessions, depending on the amount of fat being removed. The amount of necessary treatments relies on your aesthetic objectives and if there are thicker layers of fat in target areas.

Do the fat cells grow back? While the destroyed fat cells will not regenerate, brand new fat cells may form. In addition, significant weight gain will greatly affect your results. Thus, in order to keep your desired effects, it is recommended that you stick to a proper diet and workout routine.
