This mother of 3 was unhappy with her post-baby tummy, and especially with the “shelf” that was left over her scar after multiple c-sections. Dr. Decherd often sees patients with this complaint. After discussing her options with him, she decided to undergo a full abdominoplasty, which includes muscle plication and removal of loose skin. The patient’s fascia was tightened 10 cm and loose skin was pulled down and removed. Her new incision falls below her c-section scar, so the original scar was removed completely, ridding her of the “shelf” she was left with. Her belly button looks natural and scars will continue to fade. She is so happy with her results and now feels much more confident in her clothes and in swimsuits.
